Cant say that I have had a close look at a Led tv yet, but its on my list of "must do's"
I have both plasma and lcd tv's at my place and i think they both have their pro's and con,s. I prefer the plasmas for the larger screen (I have a 50" in the lounge) as i think it give's a warmer picture.
I have 6 other Lcd's around the house and think they have a great picture too, but just dont "feel" as nice to watch...... Just my personal opinion really scratch
As for the Led tv's that are now about, I will have to have a look at some point to see what the picture quality is like.

Ha ha, you sound like me, i've a 50" plasma also and a 32" LCD in the bedroom and Now a 32" LED in the Office/boys room Laughing

Anyway, i prefer the plasma as you do, but the LED is something else, very sharp under HDMI, i've not tried on TV though the jury is out scratch

I'm more impressed with the size and weight and built in sound, its a very nice piece of kit.

I suppose i'll need to try it under TV conditions on HD to see if it can cope but so far so good Very Happy

I keep telling the missus its an energy saving TV, and she just scratches her head saying whatever Laughing scratch
